Painting with Light (photo-graphy)
Part A
Paint with Light
In this lesson you will be doing....
Trying out how to work a camera in digital mode.
In a darkened room we shall make a series of images where the only light source is a torch.
We can use this to draw round objects or to create shapes in the aire or we can use the light to 'paint' the subject. We can use the torch to give different levels of light to the object by holding the torch over the object for different amounts of time.
We can also experiment with mixing the light in the room with the light from the torch.
QUESTION - What other sources of light are there that we could use to make photos?
Part B
Photo Hunt
In small groups you will need to devise a picture hunt around the college.
The aim of the photo hunt is to take pictures of sites around college but in an unusual way so it is not at first obvious to the person taking part in you quiz. Once you have taken the picture you will need to leave a coloured sticker shape around/near the image. After you have taken 10 shots you need to come back to the class room.
15 mins you will then print out these images keeping a record for yourself the images and shapes.
You will then in the next session give copies of your quiz to another group who will try and identify the pictures and win the prizephoto
